This is Jennifer, mother of Isabelle, 19, and Isaac, 18. She has been bravely fighting Triple Negative Breast Cancer since 2022, found in a routine mammogram. The year prior to her diagnosis, her children’s father passed away. Her treatments consisted of chemotherapy, lumpectomy, and radiation. During those treatments, she experienced many complications. She had a pulmonary embolism, COVID, gallstones, gallbladder removal, a seroma, chemo cataracts, Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, and a blood transfusion. Still, she has continued to smile and be a positive force for other pink sisters, friends, and family.
Over the past 10 months, Jenn developed a fatty necrosis mass in her cancer breast, growing to be the size of a small grapefruit. After much debate and discussion with her surgeon and oncologist, she opted for a double mastectomy with expanders. This recovery has been one of the most difficult.
Uncontrollable blood sugar numbers, an infected seroma in her non-cancer breast, thinning/open skin wound, and cellulitis in her cancer breast. Currently on 2 antibiotics, bound in compressions, and weeks filled with doctor appointments, she still smiles.
At this time, we don’t know when she will be able to go back to work or back to her regular schedule at the veterinary clinic she so loves. We don’t know how many surgeries are in her future. If you are able to help in any way, please do so. It is getting more and more difficult for her to maintain bills without putting all the stress on her significant other. This is a woman who has always been selfless, putting others first. It’s time for us to show her our love and put her first!
