Jennifer's Cancer Treatment & Surgery
Donation protected
A message from Jeanette Bravo, Jennifer's sister:
On January 9, my sister, Jennifer, was diagnosed with Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a rare cancer that is in the soft tissue. This diagnosis came after a biopsy from a previous surgery on Dec. 27. One month later, on January 27, Jennifer endured a second surgery at Mayo Clinic to excise the cancer. Today, Jennifer continues to be in a considerable amount of pain with a wound the size of a grapefruit. She is confined to her bed for about 80% of the day. On February 6, Jennifer will undergo a third surgery with a reconstructive surgeon at Mayo Clinic. After, Jennifer will begin radiation treatment.
The surgeries, paired with recovery, and follow-up appointments have led Jennifer to take FMLA. Since her school district’s short-term disability and sick-day donations only come after 30 days, she is currently without pay. Those who know my sister know she is someone who does not ask for help often and having her agree to such a public display of help is a huge step outside of her comfort zone.
If you have the means to help her in any way, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your continuous thoughts, prayers, and support. We appreciate you all so much.
