After much deliberation, Victor and I decided it was time to reach out and ask for help.
June 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 2 Inflammatory Breast Cancer. July 9, 2020 I began chemotherapy. Duration of therapy is 53 weeks, with infusion every 3 weeks. Currently, each infusion is $375. After my first 4, this will go up to over $1000 per infusion until my medical deductible and out of pocket is met.
We have looked into different programs to assist us, and I was accepted into a program that will pay for one of the 4 medications I am getting. We dont qualify for Medi-cal, or any other programs available to help out. This also doesnt take into account what I am being told is a 100% masectomy surgery in December, when my deductible and out of pocket costs reset. Due to Chemotherapy, I have been out of work since then end of June. Due to all the appointments I had leading up to this, there was only roughly 30hrs of PTO to make my paycheck received July 10th.
My doctor uses snail mail, so my disability has not even been processed, and we are a month since last paycheck. Between medical bills, household bills, excess gas to get to and from appointments, and taking care of my 4yo, we are sinking quickly.
To top this all off, my husbands work hours have been cut at this time due to lack of work. This may, and hopefully will pick back up soon, but we are uncertain at this time.
So now, we are doing one of the hardest things for us to do, ask for help. If you can please help us to keep our heads above water during this time, it would be greatly appreciated.
