Jennifer Vizzini's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
My name is Michelle Boyd and I started this GoFundMe account for me best friend Jennifer Vizzini and her family.  Jenn and her husband Eric have 2 sons; Tyler (19) and Marc (13).

At the young age of 35, Jenn was diagnosed in 2015 with stage 2,  Her2+  breast cancer.  She went through radiation, chemotherapy, multiple surgeries and what seemed like never ending complications.  She did this all very gracefully while continued to work a full time job as a RN.
During her radiation treatments she raised money for and participated in a 20 mile walk with Susan G Komen in Philadelphia for breast cancer.
The following year she raised money for and completed the 3 day 60 mile walk in Dallas Texas with SGK.

2016 year she was overjoyed to find out that she was cancer free.

Unfortunately , last fall after a positive diagnosis of COVID, Jenn had a lingering cough that would not seem to go away.   After a chest x-ray and CT scan she and her husband Eric were delivered the devastating news that  her cancer had returned.  The breast cancer metastasized and she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.  So at 41 years of age, she is back in the fight for her life.
They found lesions on her ribs and in her lungs.   It was a whirlwind.   She consulted with her oncologist in Conway, SC and traveled to Duke University in NC for a second opinion.  She was scheduled for 6 chemotherapy treatments and they started fairly quickly.   After the 3rd treatment, things did not seem to improve and her coughing was increasing.   She was unable to shower, get dressed or walk more  than 5 feet without getting short of breath and her only relief was to lie down .  She continued to work from home with her computer in bed next to her.
Further testing determined that the course of treatment was not working.  She has since gone through a few procedures, a surgery and has been in an out of the hospital the last few months.
She is tired, she is fighting hard and recently had to take a leave of absence from work.
The oncology team has a new plan. Last week she received a second dose of a new mediation in her treatment plan.
No one asks for cancer or to be off work.  Anyone that has had to deal with any extended medical issue knows the amount of medical bills that arrive in the mail daily.
In the past Jenn and Eric have attended charity functions, fundraisers, helped out at events to raise money for others, worked with habitat for humanity and have always been quick to lend a hand where needed.
It's our turn now to help them out.
I would like to ask everyone to make a donation, no amount is too small.

I have organized many fundraisers in the past but I realize that GoFundMe is the quickest way to get information out to many people on a social medial platform.
Please keep the Vizzini family in your prayers.
