Hi im Emma & id like to introduce my Ugandan friend Jennifer. We worked together when I volunteered in a North Ugandan hospital.

When Jennifer was 3 her hut was burnt down during the terrible civil war & she was left with severe injuries & burns. In 2006 aged 11, a US charity flew her to Philadelphia for plastic surgery.

Now aged 30, Jennifer's skin is contracted. Her eyelids dont close properly affecting tear production leading to constant infections. She needs a corneal transplant in 1 eye & is desperately trying to have treatment before the other eye is affected.

Jennifer currently cant work as a pharmacist due to her sight, constant infections, medications & hospital visits.

She has 2 beautiful girls to support & be a role model for as well as looking after her elderly mother. My once confident & resilient friend is in crisis.

Her American surgeon has agreed to do further surgery pro bono to release contractures & close her eyelids properly. Later she will have a corneal transplant & be fitted with a prosthetic for her left hand.

I am raising money to help with the airfare & travels costs & would love your help! Maybe the price of a coffee, a new lipstick, a facial.... all things we treat ourselves with to " feel good". I'd love Jennifer to feel good again!

She desperately wants to find herself again, provide for her family, build a pharmacy business & be able to look to her future. Thank you for reading this appeal.
