Our friend Jennifer Sedgman needs your help.
Jen is a single mum of 2 amazing kids, works hard as a sole trader massage therapist, and is known for her contagious energy. She trusted a woman that she has previously seen before for Botox, whose name on social media is Natash Scha.
Jen decided to go see Natasha again in mid-August as Natasha is pregnant, and Jen being the thoughtful person she is, wanted to support the small business owner.
Jen is a physically small woman, and has previously had 30units of Botox. Natasha convinced Jen that she required 100units, Jen thought that she could trust the advice of someone who claims to be a beauty professional.
Jen now has facial paralysis, which has moved down her neck, and is affecting her ability to talk, breathe properly, eat or drink, walk or drive. Jens eyelids are so heavy with Botox that she has to physically lift them to see. Her speech is slow and slurred, and her breathing has become impaired, which has been devastating for a woman who would run 10km for fun!
The issue with what was injected into Jen was that it wasn’t the Australian medically approved Botox. Jen told us that Natasha purchased it on the dark web, it was made in China, is illegal in countries such as Korea and the US, and has been modified since it was produced with unknown ingredients.. a poison!
Initially Jen was understandably terrified that she was having a stroke because the effects of what was injected were overwhelming, so she contacted Natasha who has been very blasé about the whole situation, quickly refunded Jen her $400, then proceeded to block her, with no apology, no accountability.
Jen is now in hospital receiving treatment that the doctors think this poison may have activated a condition called Myasthenia Gravis, so instead of Botox wearing off in 3-6 months, there’s the potential that this condition may be a lifelong one. She has also seen specialists and has been in contact with the Victorian Health Department.
Understandably Jen is currently focusing on trying to get better, and in the coming months will hopefully be in a more positive state, both physically and mentally, to legally fight Natasha.
We need your help!!
We want to fundraise to help our friend with her costs of living, including rent, which is close to $3000 a month, so with Jen expected not to start to make a recovery for at least 3 months, we want to do the best we can in supporting her. We know money is tight for many, but anything you can afford would give Jen and her children a little more stability.. 2024 has not been an easy one for this terrific trio
