Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9
On 9/4 My sister Jennifer (Millward) Broekhuizen left this earth for her heavenly home as the result of a tragic car accident. Jenn left behind 8 children.
People from all facets of our family’s life -- work, church, school, social groups, people all over the state, people all over the country – have been asking what they can do. It is moving beyond any words I can muster. We are raising money to help Jenn’s family survive the next 12 months while they pick up the broken pieces. Whatever we can raise will go directly to them to help with the funeral costs, school costs for Francesca, Vincent and next year Angelina, medical bills and other expenses related to keeping this family from further turmoil. Jenn’s income is obviously gone. Tim only has 12 weeks of short-term disability available to him before there will be zero income for their family. Tim has no long-term disability.
Tim has a long road ahead of him to recover physically and then be there for the children. This is especially true for Asher (12) as he recovers from the accident with head and neck injuries. I am currently digging into their finances and insurances to determine the exact amount of monthly shortfall and as I have more details, I will share them. I am the financial power of attorney for Tim and will be responsible for using these funds to cover the necessary healthcare and monthly bills for him and the kids. Some of you have asked about specific bills or expenses. If you have any questions or want to discuss this, please call or text me, [phone redacted].

In remembrance of Jenn, dance even if everyone's watching, sing even if everyone is listening, bless everyone who comes your way with a smile even if no one's watching, and always say goodbye with the biggest hug you've got.
