Jennifer Laidlaw fight with cancer
Support Jen’s struggle for recovery and a healthy life
We’ve all had to struggle as best we can through the COVID-19 pandemic. But for some, like my friend Jen, there’s a lot more to deal with than just COVID.
In November, Jen received devastating news. She learned that the excruciating pain sheexperienced during the previous month was because of an unusual and aggressive form of cancer that threatens to take her life in just a few weeks or months. In less than a week, she’ll have to endure a catastrophic, life-changing surgery because her cancerous tumour has grown rapidly. Then she’ll have to endure a regime of chemotherapy and radiation for who knows how long.
Because of this terrible disease, Jen has already lost her income and soon will lose her home.
The road ahead will be tough for Jen, but I’m confident she’ll get through it. She fought and succeeded in her battle against another cancer just a few years ago and I know she can do it again.
Once Jen gets through her surgery and initial post-surgery recovery; however, she’s going to be facing an enormous struggle to cover the costs of health and medical care not covered by government, and costs associated with just living and surviving. So, on Jen’s behalf, I am asking you to find it in your heart to help her however you can.
For anyone who knows Jen, I expect you’ll step up and help in her time of need. She’s a great friend and wonderful kind person and we can all help make her traumatic journey through the next year of recovery a little bit easier and less stressful.
Whether you are or are not able to contribute financially, I really hope you’ll consider sharing this page on your social media.
Jen just recently turned 40 years old. I know I’ll be saying happy birthday to her when she turns 41. Thank you so much for helping ease the path for Jen from now until then. I know she will be humbled and eternally grateful.
