My name is Marilynn Mee. One of the kindest, sweetest, most compassionate & caring people in my life, Jennifer Klein has lost everything to a freak house fire, including her beloved dog - her boy...her world...her reason for living - Otis William.
I want to raise money to help Jennifer pay her huge vet hospital bill. And - knowing Jennifer as well as I do - I'm pretty sure that she will want to donate some of the money we raise to give to Canine Cupids, the Milwaukee-area dog rescue group that Jennifer volunteers for.
Despite their best efforts, the emergency/specialty veterinary medicine hospital that treated Otis for smoke inhalation couldn't save his life. After about 76 hours of care & procedures, Otis passed over the Rainbow Bridge as Jennifer arrived back at the hospital. Thankfully, Jennifer's Canine Cupids foster dog, three-year-old Theo (who's been with her for a long time now), recovered and is back in Jennifer's loving care. The second foster dog she had just taken in a few days earlier, Winston, wasn't injured as he was upstairs behind a closed door, the only place in the house where much less little smoke & soot seeped in.
Thankfully, Jennifer had pet health insurance, which will cover part of her enormous bill. Theo's bill (almost as big as Otis's) has been paid for by Canine Cupids, but Jennifer knows how deep this dug into their limited funds.
I would tell you about all the personal possessions Jennifer lost & how long it will take to repair all the damage in her little house, but she doesn't care about any of that. The only thing she wants is the one thing none of us can give her - Otis William Klein.
The money we raise here cannot dry Jenn's tears or mend her broken heart, but at least it can give her a little "breathing room" and enable her to take care of her immediate needs. And sharing some of the money with Canine Cupids will help her feel a little better, I think.
