Jennifer Hoffman Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My family needs help! My sister, Jennifer Hoffman, is a hard working, single mother of 3 teenage girls that lives in Florida. Jennifer went in for a routine appointment when the doctor noticed a spot on her skin that looked suspicious. Results came back that she has a very aggressive, quick moving form of malignant melanoma. Jennifer has since been to see a dermatologist, that confirmed this diagnosis. After some further testing, the doctor believes that the cancer has spread to her lymph-nodes.
Jennifer has now been referred to an oncologist for treatment which will likely include more testing, surgery, and further measures. Due to the fact that Jennifer is on a limited income and raising 3 daughters, she has NO health insurance for herself. She has found out that she will not be able to get on insurance until Jan 1, 2018.
In the meantime, the treatments and testing that she needs to undergo, can't wait!!! The first appointment with the oncologist costs $500 and that is just for a consultation.
The immediate need is for her to be able to meet with the oncologist and schedule another procedure to remove more of the skin cancer area because they didn't get all of it in the first attempt. After that, she will be undergoing testing to see exactly where the cancer has spread.
If you could please help out with a donation of even a few bucks, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Any little bit helps to at least get her through until the insurance kicks in. Up until this point she has scraped up all of the extra money she has to pay for appointments and the original removal of the spot. Waiting another 4 months before she can get started on treatment would be devastating to both her and her kids and is not recommended by her doctor.
She is very adamant about not asking for help, so I am asking. Her kids need their Mom! Please help her out if you can!
