Hi everyone, my name is John Gentgen and I am raising money for the cremation and celebration of life for my aunt Jen. She passed away in her sleep on the morning of October 16th 2023. She had a very long battle with an aggressive cancer. At the start of her fight she was told she only had a few months left. Well, we all know just how stubborn Jen could be when she wanted and she shocked all of us by fighting and surviving well over a year. She had good days and bad days throughout but she smiled through it and kept on surviving! Her and I grew much closer during this year and we will all miss her dearly. We talked or texted near daily about almost nothing and it was great!
She was strong willed, an incredibly hard worker and as feisty as they come. Jen loved turning simple moments into memorable ones by making up a game or just adding her energy to the mix. She had 3 children who she loved very much, two grandkids and a litter of nieces and nephews. Jen was a sucker for the kids, would do anything for them and we adored her for it.
I remember when my son Malcolm was born, Jen immediately designated herself “A.A.” Or awesome aunt! It was a title she had given my mom, her twin sister and was ready to handle the role herself. She was so excited to have grand nieces and nephews to spoil! She did not disappoint on this front! She came through on any random day with gifts or activities or all the littles! It is something I will always remember and cherish about her!
Jen was a diehard Dolphins and Dan Marino fan but we did not fault her for this! She stayed true to her ways and always rooted for her team! Watching football on Sundays won’t be the same without her!
Without rambling on too much, any help would be greatly appreciated. We will be having a celebration of life for Jen sometime in the near future. We will post something on Facebook when that time comes and hope everyone will come out and celebrate with us!
She is now with her mom, dad and sister in heaven and suffering no more. Her fight is over and now she can rest with her loved ones.
Thanks all!
