Jennifer Elias Foundation for Healthcare Workers

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ray Elias and I am Jennifer Elias' husband.

Jenn passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago. In her memory, I decided to carry her dream forward of creating a foundation to support Nurses and healthcare workers with issues commonly faced in the healthcare industry, such as mental health, childcare, and other financial needs.

The objective is to take care of our caregivers!

Jenn was already an ER Nurse for almost ten years when we met. She was very passionate about caring for patients and their families, in addition to being supportive of anyone who needed a hand, a kind word, or a shoulder to cry on. Always ready to give of herself for the benefit of others, even if it meant putting her own needs aside.

I am reaching out for donations in memory of Jennifer to help start the Jennifer Elias Foundation in her memory.

This foundation will support healthcare workers to ensure that the people who take care of us are also being taken care of!

Take the Covid-19 crisis in healthcare as an example...hospitals are still recovering from the massive increase in demand for Nurses. But that is the business side of it. Healthcare workers are on the frontline when we need them just like EMTs, Police Officers, and Soldiers.

Unfortunately, all of these people are often under-supported with regard to help with emotional and financial troubles for them and their families.

The foundation's objective is to enhance resources and mental health support for healthcare workers through the following areas;
  • Provide mental health workshops at employer sites facilitated by trained mental health professionals
  • Consult with healthcare employers to improve mental health resources awareness and access (have you ever reached out to EAP?)
  • Improve resource awareness for mental health in and outside of the workplace
  • Investigate potential new legislation to help destigmatize mental health challenges and treatments, such as job protection, anti-discrimination regulations, etc. (Many people do not seek help because they believe it to be embarrassing or that it will affect their employability)

Please consider supporting this important cause in memory of Jenn!

Thank you,

Ray Elias
