Jennifer Caldwell has spent the last 10 years battling Cancer, but more importantly she spent 39 making the world a better place.
In 2007 Jenn (28) and Cody (29) decided it was time to expand their Ole Miss family with a baby. What came instead was a diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer. For 5 years Jenn fought for her life the family she desperately wanted.
She educated and enlightened everyone about what it is like to fight cancer. She was so open and honest while still allowing her love to be infectious. Even after having a double mastectomy, lymph node removal, and full reconstruction she was still able to joke and show her students that no matter what you face in life if you face it head on anything is possible.
Finally in 2009 Jenn was cancer free only for her mother to be diagnosed with Breast Cancer later that year. Victoria passed in 2015, but was able to experience one of the greatest joys of a parent and that was to become a grand-parent.
After being told it would be impossible to conceive September, 11 2014, Jenn and Cody were elated to welcome Oxford Brinkley Caldwell, their miracle baby, into the world to make their family complete.
Life was bliss. Then in 2017 during and regular checkup everyone's worst fears came true. The cancer was back and had metastasized.
With determination and a mother's fight Jenn fought to be there for her family.
If fighting cancer wasn't hard enough in 2018 Cody broke his heal in a freak accident at work. This put even more pressure on the family as now both had medical bill's piling up while trying to raise a beautiful baby boy.
Cody couldn't work and due to Railroad standards he couldn't collect disability or worker's comp. Jenn worked as much as she could but eventually the radiation and chemo were too much. Their savings was depleted and friend and family helped as much as they could
February 3rd 2020 Jenn (39) took her last breath in the arms of her loving husband.
This battle has left this amazing family with no income and bills piling up on top a man and his son loosing the love of their lives.
