All donations will help pay for medical and lodging expenses in Durham, North Carolina over the next year.  

Jennifer has had her 2nd Double-Lung Transplant Duke Medical on Valentine’s Day. She was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis at the age of 25 and later developed Pulmonary Hypertension.

She received her first double-lung transplant 10 years ago on January 28, 2011.  After a bout of infection in the fall of 2016, she was in and out of the hospital with aggressive treatments and was diagnosed with Bronchial Obliterans Syndrome (Chronic Rejection) which is a narrowing of her airways.  Second transplants are tougher and very unpredictable....Duke requires us to raise money for the transplant since we had to move to Durham and pay for lodging for at minimum six months. 
Some patients have had to relocate for a year or more if they experience complications. 

The first 14 days in the hospital are the most crucial and the entire first year will be difficult for her weakened immune system.
