It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to make an announcement that never in a million years we thought we would have to make. Our dearest friend and colleague, Jennifer Beall passed away suddenly, from heart related complications on the morning of January 10th. Many of you may have met or know Jennifer well through her work as a Passy-Muir consultant, as an Endoscopist through her company Dysphagia Decision Solutions in Florida, as the administrator of the FEES & MBS Discussion Group, or as a friendly and caring face and voice in various Speech Pathology social media groups.
If you did not know Jennifer personally, you probably did not know the extent of her kind heart, selflessness, compassion, and intense love for her husband Jared, her two dogs Kona and Dunkin, her mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. As a friend, she was incredibly loyal and supportive. Her family and friends could always count on her. Her loyalty, honesty, and sincerity were unparalleled, and with a glass of wine in hand, she could chat for hours with her extroverted personality and quick wit. She grew up on the beaches of Pensacola and therefore naturally loved swimming and boating with her husband. Jennifer was an excellent cook and made weekly meals for her parents. She was a healthy, young, 57-year-old energetic female. As a young adult she was a competitive swimmer, later took up running, walked frequently with her dogs, and overall maintained exercise as a part of her life.
Jennifer began her career as an English teacher with an intense love for the English language. Anyone who worked with Jennifer on projects or various written tasks knew this because you could always count on her to correct your grammar and punctuation ;). She was an incredibly ethical and hardworking Speech Pathologist who strove to provide the highest quality of care for her patients and to the SLPs she worked with. She was fiercely intelligent and focused her diverse knowledge base to help others. Please take a moment to search her name in any medical Speech Pathology group and you will see her compassion shining through. Jennifer ran her business as a sole proprietor for over 15 years, during which time she helped a myriad of patients regain their health, independence and ability to swallow.
In the recent past, Jennifer's husband experienced some medical challenges, resulting in Jennifer being the primary source of income for the family.
Many people have been asking where to send flowers, condolences, or where to make a donation in Jennifer's memory. In lieu of this, we and Jennifer's family have created this fundraiser to assist with the deluge of expenses that have been incurred since Jennifer's untimely passing and that her husband will continue to face as he navigates this difficult time.
Any amount you feel that you can contribute to assist the family during this extraordinarily heartbreaking time is greatly appreciated.
