Jennifer and Morgan

Morgan had leukemia when she was 4. Aggressive treatments saved her life but a side effect of the treatment used is a form of glaucoma that causes irreversible blindness. Last year she was told her eye's internal pressure was 24, way too high. The higher the pressure, the more damage being done to the optic nerve. The specialist at Duke took a wait and see approach. Today, her Charlotte eye doctor checked and the pressure in both eyes was 42 and 41. The physician was frantic, telling Morgan's mother that this is a medical emergency and that she needed Duke to get her TODAY.

Flying isn't possible due to pressure. So they are on their way now to Raleigh for Duke to try to save her eyes.

Please pray. She is a beautiful, kind and loving 17 year old. I hugged her and told her we will get her through this. I know that prayer helps. Morgan's mother needs prayers. And most of all, a very scared kid being told she could live the rest of her life blind needs those prayers.
