Our beloved Jennifer Alvarez passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 22nd, 2020 and our family is asking for your help to give her a proper funeral and burial service. Jennifer was given the unfortunate diagnosis of Stage IV Cervical Cancer two years ago and at the age of 31 years she surrendered the fight and is now at rest. The loss of a loved one at any stage of life is difficult, but to lose a young woman with her entire life ahead of her is something I will never understand. She kept a positive attitude until the very end and lived every day like it was her last. She declined rapidly and was receiving home hospice care for the last few months with her God-parents in NYC where she was surrounded by the people she loved.
On the night of her passing we were faced with an unforeseeable circumstance, which is why we are asking for your help. Due to the rise of COVID-19 deaths recently, our choice funeral home was unable to take Jennifer, leaving us no choice but to make arrangements with another funeral home on the night she passed away. Unfortunately, the expenses for the funeral are now much more than we had anticipated and we are asking for any donations to help lessen the financial burden on Jennifer's single mother, Jarka, who also takes care of her father in Florida who is also suffering from Leukemia. If you could, please donate here to help Jarka with the cost of the funeral and burial services. We would greatly appreciate all efforts. This is a very hard time for everyone and every dollar counts.
I have also included a link to the Memorial Sloan & Kettering (MSK) donation page below. Jennifer greatly benefitted from the cutting-edge research and personalized care that MSK provided to her and I know she would greatly appreciate if we could donate even a little something to the facility that offered her a quality of life that no other facility could provide. If you would like to specifically donate in Jennifer Alvarez's name, please select the gift through mail option so you can place the donation in her memory.
