Hello friends and family,
If you do not know me, my name is Jennie Thibodeaux and I am 40 years old. Two weeks ago I went to get a mammogram. The next day I was called thinking I was going for my results but they found something when they did the second third and fourth mammogram. They did an ultrasound and a ton of bloodwork. I was told that it was probably nothing but they needed to do a biopsy while I was awake watching a giant needle go through my skin. They immediately brought the sample to the lab and within an hour two nurses enter the room dressed for surgery. They found cancer in my left breast. It was caught extremely early, but it is aggressive. My oncologist stated he is extremely confident that he was able to get it all out. I have to go do bloodwork, mammograms, and ultrasounds for the next eight weeks on Fridays just to be proactive and make sure it’s all out. I am extremely happy to have my job, but unfortunately my insurance pays very very little. I had to use up all my savings and almost cleared my checking account as well. I am not out of the woods yet, but God is looking over me.
I really don’t want to lose everything I worked hard for just because I had to give them all my money or die. It’s stage 0 Ductal Carcinoma. If something should change over the next eight weeks, I will have to do radiation, which will make my ability to keep my house and my car nearly impossible because this is not a cheap journey. I have never done anything like this before, but if you are able to donate anything to try to help me get back on my feet it would be greatly appreciated. I will also give updates from every Friday after they do their testing to let everyone know if it has gotten worse. Thanks in advance,
Jennie Thibodeaux
