Jennie McNicoll and her fight against cancer

Hello!
We are long-time friends of a very passionate and giving person, who many have come to love dearly. Her name is Jennie McNicoll and if you meet or come to know her, you will see how she can light up a room with her infectious smile, share in her love for people of all walks of life, and her passion for birds and the environment! You will also quickly come to learn of Jennie’s deep love for her family, especially her two lovely and spirited teenage kids.
Recently, during a routine breast exam, Jennie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although the mammogram came back clear , a radiologist pushed for a biopsy. Unfortunately, mammograms often do not work well for women with dense breast tissue and the biopsy shockingly came back positive. Jennie was quickly scheduled for a full mastectomy on Nov 22, 2022. The tumor was larger than medical staff had hoped, and additionally, 3 more smaller tumors were discovered and even more concerning to her oncologoist was that unfortunately, the cancer had already spread into Jennie’s lymph nodes along with the cells around the lymph nodes. The oncologist believes the cancer has been growing for a few years, despite regular and clear breast exams.
Now, Jennie is faced with a challenging road ahead. She will aggressively be treated for any cancer cells that have spread throughout her lymphatic vessel system to other parts of her body. That means she will be undergoing aggressive treatment for the next 2 years including IV chemotherapy, radiation, and oral chemotherapy. Jennie has a positive attitude and is strong-willed and is ready to beat this! However, she will need our help in order to do so!!
Jennie is a single mom raising two wonderful teenagers, and due to the expensive treatments, uncovered medical expenses, as well as additional expenses one can’t even begin to imagine, we are raising funds to help Jennie beat this BREAST CANCER completely!
In Jennie’s words …. The **most important** thing she wants all women to be aware of, is that mammograms don't work for everyone, so please be your own advocate for breast MRI's which insurance doesn't cover, but one “can” pay out of pocket (range is $500-$2,000).
Please help us help Jennie beat the odds!
Thank You All!
