30 years ago, Richard Schliep, with his father's help, built his family home where he and Jennie would would create and build their family, their life, and their legacy.
Now, the owner's of the renowned Sloopy's Grill in Grand Lake, have recently received confirmation that their home is a total loss.
So many wonderful childhood memories for Cole, Dena and Richard Lee and yet the devastation is unimaginable, and the memories nearly unbearable to think about.
While they are hopeful that Sloopy's is standing, they still await confirmation from a reliable source.
Sloopy's, if still standing, is bound to have signifiant damage from extreme heat and smoke.
And, if salvageable, the question becomes - when will the community be rebuilt so they can have patrons again?
Many have asked what they can do to help. The donations of "stuff" are pouring in, and they couldn't be more grateful. However, the long term effects are beginning to set it..... the financial ones.
While it's not easy to ask this, they're left with no choice.
If you feel it in your heart and have the means, any little bit helps.
Thank you for your consideration.
