Hi everyone,
Many of you have had the opportunity to meet my precious sister Jenni. She is the most loving, kind, positive, bright, and strong person I know. Jenni has gone through a lot in the past couple of years, and has been SO positive through it all. I wanted to set up this page because many of you have been asking how you can help. Below is an introduction of who Jenni is:
My name is Jenni Stagis (maiden name Heffner). I am 32 years old and live in Clovis. I am a Registered Nurse at Valley Children’s Hopsital and specialize in Pediatric Oncology. I married my husband, Scott, in 2011. Scott is a Police Officer for Fresno.
In 2013, after two years of marriage/infertility, I found out I had Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. No signs/symptoms of being sick, but found on routine infertility ultrasounds. I endured surgery and chemo and was blessed to enjoy a two year remission.
During our two year remission, we decided to undergo IVF procedures with myself carrying the embryos. Unfortunately, we had two miscarriages and felt absolutely defeated.
A few months after our miscarriages, I was fighting cancer for a second time. After more surgery and chemo, I was once again blessed with an even longer remission than the first.
During my second cancer battle, I remained hopeful, encouraged and excited when my friend Annika came forward to become our surrogate. Within a year of that conversation, we were blessed with twin boys, Ruger and Bodie. Now our sweet boys are 15 months and a living testament of miracles and God’s love for us!
Fast forward to where I am now in my third battle! I am ready to beat this once again and to gracefully accept each challenge presented to me during this time!!! Throughout all of the heartaches, we have experienced more blessings than sadness and feel so loved! We have an amazing support system and a loving God that has given us more than we will deserve.
