Jenni Polowy Kaye Needs Your Support

I am Jenni's sister Kim. On May 14th, Jenni fell at home and broke her left leg in three places. One of the breaks was completely through the tibia. An ambulance ride led her to an overnight stay and surgery the next morning. While in the ER, they were not happy with her oxygen levels and put her on oxygen and decided to hold off on surgery until they could get it regulated.

The next chain of events is really quite unbelievable. Thursday morning, she was acting out of sorts and then lost consciousness. Although not one person is certain what occurred, the belief is a fatty embolism made its way up to her brain where she had a major loss of oxygen. Uncertain of actually how long, MRIs, EEGs, and EKGs showed damage to her lung, the right side of her heart was about three times the size of normal along with many many mini "strokes" throughout both sides of her brain. She was put on a ventilator and sedated, pumped with antibiotics, and upon coming out of sedation, has not had any cognitive ability for over a week. On May 28th, they did a tracheotomy and put a feeding tube in.

I am setting this GoFundMe up in order to help with her medical expenses and to help support her three kids—ages 14, 20, and 24. This has been an absolutely devastating tragedy to our family, and the worst part is no one is certain what happened, as well as these types of falls rarely generate this result.

My sister absolutely adores her kids, and family is everything to her. We are all at a loss and so many questions are unanswered. Any support you can provide, including prayers, is greatly appreciated. The road ahead is very uncertain and potentially very long. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
