Jenna's '17 AMHSI Israel Experience
Donation protected
Jenna is Jewish to her core.
She attended Ezra Academy, a Jewish Day school in Woodbridge, CT and spent one year at the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, NC. Unfortunately, we had to withdraw for financial reasons, and this is why I am here today.
As a junior at AHA, you spend a semester at Alexander Muss High School in Israel (www.amhsi.org). She will miss this opportunity. I want her to have that opportunity, in her own way, in a different way.
This is a 6-week intensive educational experience where they will learn about Israel from biblical times through today. (http://amhsi.org/course/summer-program)
They may visit Jerusalem 30 times in 6 weeks, Tel Aviv a dozen times - but always going to specific locations with specific intentions. (visit http://amhsi.org/tiyyulim for course curriculum description)
Jenna is a devout supporter of Israel and says she will make aliyah someday. (After 11 years of Hebrew, she is fluent.) I want to give her another opportunity to learn about her Jewishness, her ancestors, and Israel's future.
I am a single parent. I wish I could do these things for her without asking for help from others. Alas, it is not so.
Our synagogue generously provided me with the deposit for the Summer 2017 program and Jenna has received a number of grants and scholarships towards this trip. All that is left is for me to raise approximately $3,000 including airfare (donate your miles, anyone?).
I graciously ask of you to help make one of Jenna's summers a defining moment in her Jewish life. Thank you to those who have already donated and those who donate in the future!
Her proud and always humbled mother,
~Hilary
