Many of you may be aware that Jenna and Robby are expecting a precious baby boy in early July. During their 20-week ultrasound, they received the news that the baby has a condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), which is an unexpected hole in his diaphragm. As a result, the baby will require immediate surgery after birth and is expected to spend several weeks to months in the NICU for recovery.

In the early morning of May 28th, Jenna went into labor when she was only 34 weeks pregnant. Upon arriving at CHOP, she was already 5cm dilated, but fortunately, her labor halted shortly after. It is crucial for the baby's well-being that he remains in the womb for as long as possible, allowing him to grow stronger before undergoing surgery. As Jenna is still 5cm dilated, she has been placed on strict bed rest and will remain at the hospital until the baby is born.

The premature onset of labor has unexpectedly brought about significant financial challenges. Jenna, being self-employed, does not have access to benefits like paid medical leave or disability. On top of regular expenses such as rent (and planning to move to a new location in a few weeks) and caring for Jenna's three dogs (Oscar, Felix, and Pierre), they now face mounting medical costs associated with Jenna's hospital stay and the ongoing care the baby will require in the coming months.

This season of their lives has been a mix of hopeful joy that comes with the anticipation of new life, alongside the fear and grief triggered by a daunting medical diagnosis. In Philippians 4:19, we are reminded that "God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." They have already witnessed God's faithfulness through the support of their family and friends. Many have expressed a desire to help during this challenging period.
