Jenna, Jose and Family

Hi, my name is Heather and I’m reaching out to ask for any help that can be given for my sister and her family as they and her husband Jose fight cancer and all the other terrible aspects of illness that cannot be planned for. All donations will be given to Jenna and Jose in full. Jose has been fighting his battle with cancer for over a year and has shown amazing strength and beat the odds of a shorter prognosis for pancreatic cancer but the battle has been long and hard and still continues. He is currently under hospice care. He has been unable to work for quite awhile as he was getting treatment and recovering from that and my sister has taken quite a bit of time off work to be his main caretaker. They have had to make significant changes and have even re-homed horses…beloved pets in an attempt to help alleviate the financial cost of treating a major illness. I used to think in my naive youth that you could plan for illness and the financial burden and stress that comes on top of the physical, emotional and mental stress of illness…sadly after watching several close friends, family and acquaintances, what I have learned is that you can never fully prepare for it. There are so many unknowns; everyone’s battle and journey is different and the costs are incredible…costs being both financial and emotional. No one should have to pay what it costs to get better…lose earned income to care for a loved one…or decide which majorly important aspects of their life must go in order to stay afloat financially…in this day and age there should be a better way. My sister is an incredibly kind, generous and loving person. She is always supporting others and lifting them up. She and Jose have been involved in many community events and are well known and loved by many in their area. Even if you don’t know them, take a look at the family in the picture and imagine it was you…or your loved one whether family or friend…Thank you for taking the time to read a bit of their story.
