Jenna Croston's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
You may know her as the friendly face you see during your morning coffee run, or know her as a friend who shares her kind spirit and generous heart with others. And right now, Jenna Croston, a valued member of the Blue Harbor Team and loved member of our community, needs our help.

On November 1st, Jenna was diagnosed with a large meningioma in the upper-right portion of her brain. After experiencing symptoms such as intense headaches, sinus pain, facial tingling and eventually impaired movement of her left leg and arm, an emergency CT Scan on October 31st and subsequent MRI in the early morning hours of November 1st, revealed a tennis ball sized tumor putting pressure on her brain. The tumor is now affecting motor functions and interfering with her daily quality of life.

On Dec. 9, Jenna will undergo a roughly 10-hour surgery to remove most of the tumor, with follow-up radiation to prevent regrowth of the remaining portion attached to the delicate middle membrane of her brain. After radiation is complete, she’ll undergo periodic MRIs to monitor any tumor regrowth. Due to unfortunate insurance delays, her original surgery date was pushed out by nearly a month, and Dec. 9 is the soonest-available date with an operating room prepared for the length of time this delicate surgery requires. Between now and then, she is taking medication to help with the increasing headaches and to prevent seizures, while experiencing progression of the severity of the tumor’s impact on her motor functioning. She cannot work leading up to the surgery and will have a lengthy recovery once on the other side.

Anyone who knows Jenna knows she takes a genuine interest in the lives and well-being of others and carries the concerns and cares of those around her as if they are her own. Jenna will have significant medical expenses and the inability to work for an unknown period of time. Let’s let Jenna know she is not alone through this, and we are keeping her in our collective hearts. Donations made to this fundraiser will help her directly with medical and personal expenses leading up to her surgery and during her recovery.

Any donation is greatly appreciated, as are positive thoughts and personal messages of support.
