Jenna and Hudson's Fight for Time
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Bob and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart, asking for help during one of the most challenging times of our lives.
My wife, Jenna, and I have been married since 2008. Our journey to parenthood has not been easy, and we've faced many obstacles along the way. After struggling with infertility and receiving a diagnosis of PCOS, we tried fertility treatments but faced complications that led to needing a D&C. At that point, we made the heartbreaking decision to give up on the idea of having biological children. However, our hearts were still open, and we felt something was missing in our lives.
This led us to foster care, where we found our forever family. We were able to adopt four beautiful girls, a sibling group we worked hard to keep together. We've been blessed to have them in our lives for 8 wonderful years, and they truly complete our family. Just when we thought our family was complete, a miracle happened – Jenna became pregnant after 17 years of marriage!
But our joy was short-lived.
At 21 weeks, Jenna began to experience complications. She started to dilate, and we rushed to Riverside Hospital, where doctors tried to place a Cerclage to hold the pregnancy in place. The procedure, which should have taken 30 minutes, turned into a two-hour ordeal as the baby, Hudson, kept prolapsing. The procedure was successful, but the road ahead was anything but smooth. Jenna began to bleed, and we were grateful to the incredible medical staff at Riverside, who helped stabilize her and gave her a little more time.
Unfortunately, the situation has worsened. This morning, at 5 a.m., Jenna woke up to find that her water had broken, and Hudson is now breech. She is also having contractions, but he is very underdeveloped at just 22 weeks. The doctors have started administering steroids to help develop his lungs, giving him a fighting chance if he continues to come early.
Jenna is on 24/7 bed rest and is under constant medical care at Riverside Women's Health, where we hope to keep Hudson in as long as possible. However, the situation remains critical. If any of the following occurs, they will have to deliver Hudson via C-section:
1. Infection from the water breaking.
2. Continued tearing of the Cerclage and increased bleeding.
3.Onset of active labor.
Jenna is incredibly strong, and she is doing everything in her power to keep Hudson in for as long as possible, but the road ahead is uncertain, and we need help. Our family is facing unexpected medical expenses, living costs, and travel expenses as I stay with her in the hospital around the clock. Any funds raised will go directly to these expenses, and every donation will help lighten the financial burden of this preterm birth and hopefully extend her hospital stay, giving Hudson more time to develop.
Every day counts, and we are holding onto hope that Hudson will continue to grow stronger. Your support will make a world of difference to our family, and we deeply appreciate any contribution you can make, whether large or small. Your love, thoughts, and prayers are also invaluable to us during this time.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We are forever grateful for your support as we navigate this incredibly difficult journey.
With love and gratitude,
Bob and Jenna
