Jenn's Cancer Recovery & Support
Donation protected
This is never easy, but what lately has been? On June 19, I went in to have a milk duct removed from my right breast... just an angry duct. No big deal, right? I mean it wasn’t fun by any means but I opted for the removal instead of living with a band-aid on my nipple every day.
I received a phone call from my doctor on June 21, to check in on my recovery. She also needed to let me know that the pathology came back positive for cancer. Yes, cancer. My heart dropped, all these things running through my mind... the numbing feeling of nothingness, tears… how am I going to tell my daughters, my friends and family?
Since then it’s been doctors’ appointments, test and more tests. All that has led to a double mastectomy that I had on September 25th. Recovery is going to be the easy part now that the worst is behind me.
The reality of missing work and paying medical bills is hitting home. I am scheduled to be off work for a month after the mastectomy surgery and again in January when my second surgery is scheduled. Most of my time away from work won't be paid and we will have a shortfall to meet our bills. Garrett has been my rock, but he can’t carry the weight alone and we are asking for help. We are more than appreciative for all our family and friends and the support that we have already received. ❤️
A fundraiser is scheduled at Migration Brewery in Gresham on Saturday, November 2, from 3:00 PM -7:00 PM. Migration Brewery has graciously offered 10% of all proceeds during the event will be donated to Jenn’s recovery.
We are working hard to put together auction packages for the event, so please bring your money and show your support! If you are interested in donating auction items, please reach out to Tammi Stumpf, Khrys Jones or Megan Strong.
