Jenn M. Larin's Cancer Treatment

Weeks after having her second child, my cousin Jenn learned that she has stage 4 cancer. Raising an newborn alone is daunting, but doing that while dealing with cancer takes a lot of strength, as well as resources. I'm kindly asking for donations of any and all sizes to help offset these new costs. I am 32 years old. A mother of 2 girls named Marilyn, who is 7 years and Mikayla, who will be turning 3 months old.

After 7 years I gave birth to my second daughter Mikayla. A month after her birth, I was diagnosed in August with breast cancer. At first, the doctors thought it was Mastitis, which is clogged up ducts from the breast milk, but after multiple attempts with antibiotics, the irritation continued. I had redness around the area, along with engorgement and significant pain. Because of these issues, I proceeded to do a mammogram which revealed abnormalities, ultimately leading to a biopsy that confirmed cancerous cells. After some test results we found out it was stage 4, noncurable, due to the spread of my bones, specifically my spine and ribs.

I have just begun the process of chemo, which will be ongoing. Since then, I have already lost most of my hair, had a rash reaction to my body and fatigue.

Since being diagnosed, it has been really difficult for me to continue doing the daily mom life chores I am used to. Emotionally it has been a rollercoaster for me. The heartbreak and fear of not knowing what the future holds is scary. My fear of my daughters not growing up with their mother is the worst. I continue to stay strong and positive. My family is supportive and keeping me strong to fight this Illness. This change is not only an adjustment for me alone but for my family, too. I will continue to do what I can even though it may not be as much as I would be able to. I am still learning how far I can push my body, but it will take time. I never thought I would be going through this, but unfortunately, I am. This will only make me a stronger woman.
