Jenkins Family House Fire Relief

Donation protected
In the early morning hours of Tuesday December 9th, the Jenkins family home caught on fire beginning in the attic and working its way down. The cause was a severe chimney fire attatched to an active woodstove.

Debi, Jordan, & Noah were at home asleep at the time, the boys aged 14 and 19. My father, Ron, who also resided in the home, was not present. Fourtunately, those present were all able to get out of the home with minimal injury. They had minor smoke inhalation and high CO2 levels, but they escaped with their lives.

Sadly, their belongings are essentially 100% unsalvageable. They were permitted to go back into the remnants of the home, and the few things that did seem to be in usable order still (some small amounts of clothes, family photos, my father's Navy medals) have been so embedded in the fibers with the smell of smoke, they do not see them being usable any longer other than to put memories aside.

My family- my Mother, Father, and two little brothers- as well as their dogs that they saved from the fire, they are staying in a hotel. They are homeless, essentially, dependant upon the generosity of our lovely community.

My little brothers are suffering from night terrors, and still are coughing up soot. This has been an extremely traumatizing experience for them, and I want to get them home as fast as we can. Every bit helps. Every single bit.

Please visit our Facebook page at  https://www.facebook.com/JenkinsFamilyFire for information on how to donate in person, if you prefer. If you are on the page because you are from our town, please keep your eyes and ears open for a decently priced house in the Beaverdam area. The very first thing they need is a new place to call home. They spent Christmas at my own home, but a hotel is no place for a family of four. This is taking a mental toll on them more and more very day, and I want to help get this changed as soon as we can.

Thank you so very much for reading. Thank you so very much for caring for my family. Thank you so much for everything. Everything.
