I am coming to you as an alumni, teacher, coach, and a daughter of our hometown of Jenkins.
I have taken on a new endeavor in the sports world, by accepting the coaching position for the track and field team.
Jenkins Track has always been a proverbial powerhouse, and I am looking forward to continuing this great tradition as I learn about this great sport along with our student athletes.
That being said, we are in dire need of funds to purchase equipment and uniforms. Track has completely NO revenue coming in. There is not any form of concessions or admissions due to our walking track not meeting regulations.
We are completely dependent upon donations and fundraising. We are starting out with $0 in our account. We have at least 25 students who are eager to don the great uniform of a Jenkins track and field athlete.
There are a total of 5 uniforms left, that do not match. Broken equipment that cannot be used, and sadly we will not be able to compete in some events because we do not have the equipment to train properly.
I am asking for all Cavaliers, past, present and future who would like to contribute to our program to donate. ALL proceeds are going to purchase new uniforms for the athletes to proudly wear to meets, and for equipment to help them prepare to dominate again.
