My name is Jo, and I am reaching out to hopefully help my darling sister, Jeni, with the financial burden of the heartbreaking diagnosis of terminal Liver Cancer. Jeni was diagnosed with terminal Liver Cancer in September 2022. Jeni was given 2 years, and since the original diagnosis, has been literally fighting for her life. She immediately started a combination of chemotherapy and radiation, which resulted in very debilitating & long term side effects and mobility issues. In May 2023, Jeni had Liver dissection surgery, where a huge part of her liver was removed. In the upcoming months, Jeni will return to the Peter Mac Cancer Centre in Melbourne, where she will have her bowel removed. It will be her second major surgery within a few months, and will be a very long recovery.

This horrible disease has taken so much from Jeni & her wife Cassie, including her beloved job, which she loved to go to. Unfortunately, the costs of living don’t stop. She has had to move in with our parents, who are aged pensioners, and together they are faced with medical expenses, bills, travel to and from Cancer Centre for treatment, (2 hours each way), and then accommodation when Jeni needs to be near the cancer centre for weeks on end. The costs over the last 10 months have been such a burden on my sister and my parents that they should not have to think about in such a horrible heartbreaking time. They have been very hesitant to ask for help, but with another huge surgery coming up, they are forced to reach out and ask, please, if you are able, please help my darling sister. No one should ever have to go through this nightmare, and the financial burden is something they should not have to think about.
