On the date of September 10, 2013, my best friend for more than 30yrs Jennifer was given the life changing news that no one much less a mother and wife wants to hear. Mrs. Cannon you have cancer. At that moment time halts while you try to wrap your mind around the word and its impact. Once Jennifer had done so the doctor continued and told her she had stomach cancer. Jennifer and her husband Larry had only been married since May 30th of that year, so four short months into their happily ever after they were into the fight of their lives for her life. Jennifer and Larry went home told their kids, family and friends and got ready for the battle. She has endured 5 surgeries so far along with several hospital stays along the way. Jennifer is now going Wed. January 27th to be put on a feeding tube because she has not been able to keep food down for months and is wasting away so this is the next step along her journey.  Once finding this out she contacted her insurance and was informed that her insurance does not cover the type of formula that she will be having to use for her feeding tube. She requires a type that mimicks already processed by her stomach formula since it will going directly into her intestines. Her additional cost of 2000.00 a month for the correct formula will be another out of pocket expense. Put plainly they have no way to afford this added expense of what she needs to simply get nutrition. Jennifer has been a nurse for over 20yrs and continued her nursing as long as she could. Jen as I affectionately have always called her nursing is her calling in life and it feeds her soul to help and asisst others. She isn't use to needing that for herself but finds herself now in need of help. Larry, her husband as been her rock through all of this and does all he can but his job can only provide so much. There are only 7 days in a week and he works all he is allowed to try to provide for his family. This is where I am asking for your help. Jennifer's medical bills thusfar are totaled to over 350,000.00 dollars and continue to grow. Any amount can and will be greatly appreciated and go directly to help keep them from financially going under. Please donate.
