Oasis of Hope Treatment

Donation protected
Jena Yoder, the wife of Rod Yoder, and mother of six young children, lives in Jesup, GA. On March 26, Jena was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Breast Cancer.

After meeting with surgeons and oncologists, Jena and Rod did not receive the assurance they were looking for in order to have a full recovery. Because the cancer is HER2 positive, it is more aggressive and more difficult to treat. Being a mom of 6 precious children, with the oldest in 4th grade and the youngest 10 months old, the suggested plan of heavy doses of chemo as well as radiation, along with a double mastectomy isn't the path of treatment to which they feel God is leading them.

Instead, after prayerful consideration and counseling, they are pursuing a more natural approach to treatment. God lead them to "Oasis of Hope" in Tijuana, Mexico. They have previously had a phone consultation with the lead surgeon and received nothing but positive feedback. After studying all of Jena's scans and pathology reports, the doctors at Oasis of Hope are strongly optimistic that their more natural approach to treatment will be successful.

Jena would stay 3 weeks at the hospital in Mexico and receive tests and scans while undergoing in-house treatment. After 3 weeks, Jena would come home on a low dosage chemo pill along with 20 supplements to repair and heal her body for 3 months.  After 3 months, she would go back for a lumpectomy procedure and 1-2 weeks of treatment which would include vitamin I.V.'s, ozone therapy, hypothermia therapy, and immuno therapy, etc.  She would also receive a dendritic cell vaccine which would take tumor cells and blood cells and make a vaccine for the HER2 positive cancer.

The Oasis of Hope Hospital has been in practice for 55 years and their success rate is very high. The doctors there are all oncologists and surgeons. The total cost for the treatment will be $56,000. In order to even begin the treatment, the facility requires $29,000 up front.  In addition to treatment expenses, Jena and Rod will also be searching for lodging close to the hospital for their six children to stay and visit. Jena and Rod feel peace that God is leading them in this direction and are trusting Him to work out the details.

They want to thank everyone for the support, prayers, and outpouring of love that has already been shown to their family during this difficult time.
