Happy Holidays everyone!
This is new for me..well..new in the sense I’ve never done it for me..but for others. So please forgive me if my writing is not at its best today.
I have some good and bad news to share. That’s what we nurses do…helps to keep the ride a little more comfortable and positive as you cross over a couple of bumps.
Long story short, as an RN that’s easy… I went in for emergency brain surgery at Yale on 12/23/21. Neurologists, Nurses, PCA’s, Techs..the whole team was remarkable. That’s not disturbing..just bizarre for me to be on the other side of things. Anyhow, things are far from perfect at this juncture. I unfortunately don’t have insurance..I know, I’m an idiot! Upcoming months will be filled with oncologists, additional surgery and radiation/chemotherapy and well the outstanding cost of this recent hospitalization will need to be handled by me.
I am hoping to be able to work..there might be a revision or two but remaining optimistic.
I’m fully certain with some time, positive energy, prayer, excellent medical treatment and lots of hope that I will come out the other side.
In the interim, I’m in a bit of a sticky spot. I’m hoping I can reach out into the world..and ask friends, colleagues, strangers for humbling financial assistance. My biggest concern is the kids, particularly PJ and John who are on various levels of the launching pad.
Hoping this is temporary and I will be returning back to my passion and love as an RN sooner than expected. Sending any prayers and positive energy will also come in handy.
Thank you and love you all ❤️
