Jennifer Armas Recovery Fund

Dear All,

I hope this finds you and your loved ones well! I'm reaching out to ask you to join me in support of our dear friend/ sister/ auntie/ community member/ colleague/ mentor/ fellow artist Jennifer Cendaña Armas as she unexpectedly has to prepare for major surgery. This is a procedure she has undergone previously but it will have to be redone so it is especially taxing on her body, mind, and resources this second time around. She has already had to come out of pocket for over $1000 and the funds we raise will help with all hospital and medical expenses, recovery plan and treatments, as well as basic living expenses and food for 2-3 months of recovery time.

If you know Jen Armas, you know that she is a loving and diligent support person for so many of us, from students and mentees to friends and community members, not to mention helping us raise our babies. She is one of those people who holds community together whether through checking in regularly to make sure everyone has what they need, or by sharing her hilarious and insightful reflections on life, culture, sports, etc. If you don't know Jen, I hope you will get to at some point, or at the least you will get to experience her artistic work.

Either way, please consider donating any amount you can and/or spreading the word so she will have what she needs for surgery and recovery. Her birthday is coming up so I'm hoping we can make it as joyful and supported as possible! Many thanks!!
