Jemma's dilemma, any support is appreciated ❤️
For anyone that knows me, they would know I am not usually one to ask for help. But this one hits different! Furchildren are children, especially to those of us who do not have human children.
Those who know me, may know how much Jemma means to me. Jemma is my dogs sister from the same litter. I single-handly taught her all the tricks she knows and have loved her since a puppy. So I want to do all I can to help.
Out of her almost 5 years of life, Jemma has never eaten anything silly off of tables, beds, etc. So, it is almost like she knew her birthday was the next day and wanted Ray to stay home with her haha. This silly girl decided to get into Ray's jacket pocket and ate 11 of them tasty Nurofen.
Some may know even 1 Nurofen can cause intestinal bleeding and kill a dog. Jemma ate 11.
Ray rushed her to the vet on the 25th of June and it was looking positive that he got her there on time. After $1000 in vet bills Jemma was sent home with 3 different types of medication and a list of what to look out for in the upcoming days (it can take 3 to 7 days for the effects of Ibeprophan to show).
Jemma has had 3 more vet visits since then ringing the vet bills up to $2500 and will need more in the coming weeks because she has been showing signs of internal damage.
Now for Ray, a single dog Dad working on a casual basis, taking time off work for costly vet appointments takes a toll as he doesn't get paid unless he is working.
This is where me and my love for Jemma comes in. I am hoping to ease the cost of vet bills as we all know how expensive they are and how much our fur children mean to us!
For those who have met Jemma, they may know she is a loveable furbaby who is Ray's world. For those who have met Ray, they may know Ray is also not one to ask for help but is always one to help others. So here is our chance to help him back! Friends and community, even just $2 could help ease this unfortunate accident so I am hoping to raise some spare funds for the cost of vet bills for Jemma & Ray. Those who know Ray don't hesitate to reach out with support as I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
