Hello!

This is our new friend, 4-year-old Jemila. We had the chance to meet her and her parents, Jeremiah and Kayla, recently, when they needed help finding a place to stay after getting evicted from their apartment and wait-listed with the local shelters. Jeremiah is a Chicago native and works in construction. Kayla grew up in a refugee camp in Kenya and immigrated to America with her family when she was four. They have started to save money for an apartment, but need to collect enough for their deposit as well as the first month's rent. Any extra money we can raise will go to helping Kayla pay for some much-needed dental work.

If you got the leg hug from Jemila that I got after the first night we met, you would pull out the credit card so fast you would need a chiropractor. Anything you can spare will be so helpful to them, and if you can't spare the cash but have any used clothing or toys or school supplies that a four-year-old girl would enjoy, please send it over.
