Jelly Belly Founder is being sued by Jelly Belly®

Donation protected
In 1976 David Klein invented The Jelly Belly® Jelly Bean. David also started his own company called The Jelly Belly and even had a storefront called The Jelly Belly.

In 1980 after making Jelly Belly® Jelly Beans a huge success, his contract manufacturer came to him and said they were buying his trademark or they would go back to the factory and rename it, and cut him off. David felt he didn't have any other option, but to sell.

Ever since then, David has tried to use the history he worked hard to build to recreate the success. The Jelly Belly® Jelly Bean company has done things that can be read in the court documents that show how they acted towards David(The Candyman). Please look on pacer.gov if you search "Jelly Belly"(look at the latest court dates). They also took him to court to say that he has been saying he started THEIR company which is not true. His original company was called The Jelly Belly, and they only recently in 2001 changed their company name to say that. He actually has a documentary where he tells his story. It's very clearly stated that he wasn't the founder of his contract manufacturer. They want to force him to no longer say he's the founder of HIS company The Jelly Belly.

The documentary is called Candyman The David Klein Story on Amazon Prime which tells his story in detail. Please do us the honor of watching it so you can really understand what's happened.

David's legal fees will probably go into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. He's going to be listing for sale his BELOVED only remaining Jelly Belly® item he has which is his Jelly Bean hat from his glory days as Mr. Jelly Belly® so that he can pay his latest attorney bill.

As a good friend of his, this breaks my heart to see.

If you have ever had any enjoyment out of eating one of these Jelly Beans that he invented, please consider helping him. It's not fair that they are trying to recreate history. Think about The Colonel losing his place in history as the founder of KFC. I'm sure you can think of other founders that deserve the same. Please help anyway you can.

That includes sharing to any social media, or the press, or your email lists. Thank you so much!

The Candyman's friend, Stephanie
