At the beginning of the year, I realised it will be ten years in October since losing my lovely Nan to Alzheimer’s. This cruel disease continues to affect so many people’s lives, and I would like to help in a small way to raise more money and awareness for this very important cause.
As a young Nan, I think she would have been around to meet her great-granddaughter had it not been for this devasting illness – which brings me to another important cause: our primary school's PTA.
Our dedicated team strives to make a small but effective difference to the learning lives of the cheeky cherubs at Madley Brook School! Every penny really does help, and we would like to be able to make some more significant investments to the school next year.
I have signed up to run the Abingdon Marathon on 19th October 2025, and any sponsorship I am able to raise (for what still seems like a ridiculous idea a month into training!) shall be split equally between these two charities.
Fair to say, I am currently petrified of the 26.2! If you can spare a few pennies to help a hormonal mum, (doing this the wrong side of 40!) go the distance, it will be deeply appreciated.
Any gesture of support will be gratefully received by all – thank you
