Overview
We've been booked as support for Sorority Noise and Remo Drive's upcoming US tour! For two weeks we'll be going across America spreading our afro-futuristic rock-infused soul music to the masses. However, to avoid financial ruin, we'll need some funding from you guys... in exchange for some exclusive goodies.
What’s happening?
So, if Tame Impala covered Prince’s “Sign o’ the Times" and had it produced on Rainbow Road at J Dilla’s loft, you’d proooobably come pretty close to what our music sounds like. Ever since meeting at school in Hartford, CT our goal has always been to fill DIY spots and basement shows with people of color and marginalized groups, and we’ve had the fortune of seeing this vision come to light in the past couple years.
A couple of months ago we were asked to open for some of our favorite groups: Sorority Noise and Remo Drive. To go on a large-scale tour of this magnitude, we’re going to need a little help.
Why we need you (yes, you)
Jelani Sei is a 100% independent project (no label or publishing deal). Though we’ve been able to make enough money for band-related expenses, a tour across halfway across the continent is no light feat and will cost us at least $3,000. With little cash earned from these shows, the money we will make from playing this tour will not be enough to sustain us while on tour.
Unfortunately, one of our guitarists, Scott, had his guitar pedalboard stolen so we’re going to need to make sure his signature sound finds its voice again. Ultimately, with no major support behind us, you, the fans, are the only way we are going to be able to afford this tour!
