Dear Reader,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Soha Elnemer from Gaza, currently living in Belgium. I’m doing this fundraising on behalf of my displaced family in Gaza, who have been facing extraordinary challenges due to recent events.
Displacement:
As you may be aware, the current situation in Gaza has led to the displacement of countless families, and my own family is among those profoundly affected. My 25 family members were displaced first from our home to Al Shifa Hospital, then to Al-Nuseirat Camp, then to Khan Yunis city, and eventually to Rafah City. Due to bombardment and invasion of the Isra*li Army on Gaza Strip.
We hardly get news about our house in Gaza but it was severely damaged :
Amidst the chaos of war, my parent are the most vulnerable navigating a landscape fraught with peril and uncertainty. Also having to endure challenging circumstances while also being very stressed over their sons & daughters. Almost all of my family members got really sick due to cold, unclean water, famine and the extreme living conditions.
Falling sick happens does happen quickly but recovering is very slow due shortage of medicine and getting a treatment in a hospital is no longer an option because the only hospital in Rafah is overloaded with wounded people.
My sister Jehan:
I want also to talk about my sister Jehan Elnemer who has lost her only 2 sons Abdallah 11y and Nassr 7y by an Isra*li air strike on Al-Taj 3 residential building the 25th of October during the ongoing war on Gaza.
Above all that; Jehan has gotten ill and we cannot find a treatment in Rafah. So, she needs to endure the pain until she eventually get operated.
Currently staying in tents:
At the moment my family are staying in tents in Rafah City, in an empty area close to the sea as they had to leave their previous tents when were in Khan-Yunis city.
They are living in very inhumane conditions with almost no access to food, water or electricity. And if they find food, then prices are 10-15 times more expensive than it used to be.
As at the moment, access to basic necessities becomes a daily struggle, as shortages of food, water, and medical supplies exacerbate the already precarious plight of my parents and ill sisters. Unfortunately it is much much more than what we can afford.
We're seeking help:
In light of these circumstances, we are reaching out to seek assistance and support to help us navigate through these challenging times and would appreciate you helping my family.
We are also trying to get them out of the war zone and have them go to a safer place but it is almost an impossible mission since the Egyptian regime won’t let Gazan’s travel to safety unless we pay 5000$ per person and sometimes much more.
Any help is very appreciated and if you can’t help then a prayer is also appreciated.
Thank you
Soha Elnemer
