My name is William, and with a very heavy heart, I’m sharing that my dad passed away on September 1st in Hawaiʻi. His passing was sudden, and as his oldest son, I am now responsible for making all of the final arrangements.

This is my first time navigating something like this, and I want to honor my dad with dignity by arranging for his cremation and bringing his ashes back home with me to Texas. Unfortunately, these costs are more than I can handle on my own.

The expenses include:

Direct cremation and required permits in Hawaiʻi

Death certificates and necessary paperwork

Traveling costs to return his ashes to Texas

Other related final expenses

The estimated total is around $10,000, which covers only the basics to ensure he is cared for respectfully and returned home.

My dad was a loving father, friend, and brother who always gave what he could, even when he had little for himself. He was kind-hearted, funny, and always believed in family above all else. Some of his fondest memories were of him by a body of water. Whether that be the local beach or the river flowing in his backyard as a kid, now I want to make sure he can rest in peace and be close to us again.
