Update on Jeff's Transplant

  • Update on Jeff. My name is Cassie and I am still fundraising for my boyfriend Jeff Rounsville. As some of you may or may not know it has been 2 weeks since Jeff has had his transplant and it has been a huge success. He had a few complications but they have been resolved and he is making great progress. Five of the seven drainage tubes have been removed, along with 2 IV's, breathing mask, epidural, and an array of monitoring wires. Jeff was finally able to talk on the phone last Wednesday and he started occupational therapy on Friday. He was taken out of ICU and went to acute recovery unit 2 days ago. Hopefully he will be out of the hospital within the next 2-3 weeks and moved to the recovery facility. He will be in the recovery facility for 3 months and this is where the fundraiser comes in. There are so many expenses insurance will not cover and in the last 2 years we have sold our retirement toys and our extra vehicle to pay for everything that was not in our network, and our savings is drained. This transplant is very important to us, Jeff has a first great grandchild due in January and he is not done doing the good things he does, he's not done being a productive member of our community, he's not ready to end his story. By God's amazing grace and blessing he has been given a chance and we don't want to lose it. Our family and our friends know that anyone who came to our door in need we would help, from a couch to sleep on for the night, a bag of groceries from our pantry, a meal and a $20 to get you to payday to funds to get an apartment or buy a new to you home. We helped and now we are asking for help. The insurance is better now and pays for almost everything. The money will be used to pay for the stuff insurance doesn't cover like parking at the hospital and the recovery facility at $20.00 a day times 2 for the three months, alternative medications that control side effects from the prescription drugs, transportation between the hospital and the recovery facility multiple times a week, gas and food. Now I don't know what else to say except please and thank you in advance and may God Bless You All. To all that have donated we want to thank you again as words alone cannot express how much we appreciate it. God Bless.
