My brother, Jeff, needs help. He is self-employed and not insured. Thursday afternoon he got admitted to Northeast Hospital in Gainesville after having issues catching his breath and doing his usual activities for days or weeks now. On Friday they informed him that his heart wasn't functioning properly, on both sides. The blood isn't pumping as fast as it should in or out causing him to be weak and lack oxygen. After several tests and the weekend in the hospital, he has some answers and questions that'll only get answered with time. He has two blockages due to calcium build-up. They suspect due to him only being 43, in great shape, and a fairly healthy eater that this stems from something he was born with that could be showing signs now. LV compaction syndrome is one possible cause for this now at his age with him not being a drug user, smoker, or daily drinker. He needs 6 to 8 weeks to do heart therapy, he will be on heart meds probably for the rest of his life, and if they're wrong and this isn't a genetic issue he was born, with the heart could remodel/mend itself. They won't know until he is on the meds for 6 months and they do another EKG. Either way, he needs to take it easy for a while. Best case scenario his heart starts to mend and he is just on meds for life. Without them he will get worse and getting worse means dying. He is the sole provider and primary guardian of my nephew Jeffrey Junior, who is only 15 years old. Anything you can donate towards medical/living expenses to buy him time to relax before going back to his custom cabinet and renovation work would be greatly appreciated.
