Jeff's Leg Fund
Donation protected
Hello My name is Jeff i am raising funds for a new Genium 3 Prosthetic Leg Scheduled to be purchased in February early 2022.
In January 2019 my leg was amputated above the knee as a result of Charcot foot a rare condition attributed to diabetes. My leg had gone septic and I was given the daunting choice of losing the leg or death in 3 days. I was in hospital for 2 months while my wounds healed. The result was an above the knee amputation and a very long hard road to being able to walk again.
It has been over 3 years since the initial surgery and many therapy sessions to regain some of my functionality. My work is in material handling and this injury has rendered me basically useless at work.
My wife has stepped to the plate and picked up most of slack in our small business. However her extra work at the business plus extra care at home has made it most difficult to function.
Covid has slowed our ability to put money away toward this leg estimated at over $125, 000. This new leg would restore the ability to do some work functions, play golf, walk and mostly get out of a wheel chair which unfortunately more and more becomes my only pain free method of getting around. This prosthetic which unfortunately is not covered by the government or insurance would be out of reach with my current savings.
Asking for this type of help is not my way or anything i have ever done on the past however the restored freedom this leg would provide has left little choice but to ask for help. Any donations large or small would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance from myself and my wife, your donation small or large will help towards restored freedom and pride in one man's life.
Sincerely,
Jeff Griffin
