What would it mean to have the energy to be present, to play and to love on your kids?
To be free of pain and of weakness long enough to take your family on an outing, a vacation, or to participate in your hobbies?
To be able to work and provide for your family?
For my friend, Jeff, these possibilities – the ones that I and many others take for granted – have been impossible due to his long time battle with a kidney disease known as IgA nephropathy, or Berger disease that leaves him incapacitated with weakness, tiredness and chronic pain. Jeff has already reached total kidney failure, but luckily he has a kidney donor lined up, but just needs some help with a couple steps before he can receive the kidney.
Jeff is 32 years old and lives in Utah with his wife of 15 years, Kyra, and their two daughters Olivia and Emily, ages 5 and 8. He does the best he can but struggles with the heartbreaking frustration of pain and weakness in the presence of his energetic little girls. He is desperate to begin working full time to provide his family support and relieve Kyra of being overworked. He looks forward to the day he can accompany his family on outdoor adventures, to see the beauty his state has to offer, and to be able to delve into his love of making music.
These priceless qualities of life are easily overlooked until they are gone. Jeff has been fighting to get them back and he is closer than ever. He just needs a little financial help.
Jeff’s dream of being the father and husband his family deserves is just around the corner. His mother-in-law is providing a kidney for donation, but before he can receive it he must have two vaccines and a dental procedure – both not covered by insurance, and totaling $2,800.
I’ve created this Go Fund Me to help Jeff and his family have a chance at a better life. To help relieve the burden of someone’s struggle is perhaps the greatest gift we have to give – for ourselves and for others. I invite you to consider donating any amount you can to help Jeff be able to receive his kidney and send him on his way to living and loving life the way he was meant to.
