Jeff's Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
We absolutely hate having to do this but we are out of options at this time. On the evening of May 7th, I took my husband, Jeff to the ER due to him being in severe pain. I had him at the doctor's the day before and they said if anything changed to call or go to the ER. He ended up having to have life saving surgery Saturday morning about 4am due to gangrene setting in and rapidly spreading from the bottom of his testicles to his rectum. He was given a 10% chance of survival. He made it through the surgery and they had to remove an area the size of a dollar bill. He was then given a 60% chance of survival. He had to have the wound packed and cleaned several times a day which caused alot of pain. He then went into surgery again to have a colostomy bag put on to help keep his wound area clean. He then went into a third surgery to have a wound vac put on to help with the healing process but it ended up failing and it was removed the following day. He spent two weeks in the hospital before he was released to come home. We have home health nurses that come out twice a week. He has follow up doctor appointments with his regular doctor, the surgeon and the wound clinic. He has to have his wound packing/bandage changed daily and also his colostomy bag. Insurance is not paying for all of the bills/supplies. He is unable to work for a minimum of three months. I am currently working but I do not make alot of money. We were just getting caught up from me being out of work for almost two years and then all of this happens. We are not asking for handouts but we do need help with medical expenses and supplies. If you can help we would would be greatly appreciative. If you can't, we understand and would just ask that you please say a prayer that there is no more infection and that he heals to 100% and is able to return to work. Thank you and have a blessed day.
