Jeff A Wood - ALS
Donation protected
Hi everyone, some of you may or may not know my dad Jeff Wood, he was officially diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in January 2017. For those of you who do not know what that is, it's basically the motor neurons in the brain are dying, which makes the mucscles in the body die. In the end, the muscles that help contract the diaphram to help him breath will stop functioning. At this point my dad has lost most of the motor skills in his hands and arms. Unfortunaltely ALS is an incurable disease. The average life expectancy is three to five years from diagnosis, but as we've been told, ALS does not have rules. His time could be longer or it could be shorter.
Althought the decision was very difficult, my dad officially retired in January 2018 due to struggles he faced in managing a Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer's parts store. Fortunately he has short term disability, but unfortunately it does not help pay all the bills. My dad is a very proud man and would never ask for help, but at the suggestion of others I started this page for anyone that would like to help.
Thank you everyone for your love and support!
