Jeffrey’s Amputation - Urgent Medical Help
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jeffrey and I’m trying to fundraise money for myself. You see, last summer I got a small sore on my ankle bone which got worse over time. I had surgery on my ankle which helped but later it started to get infected to the point that I had to get another surgery to get the infection out. By December of last year (2022) I started getting the shivers all the time and started to get sick a lot. I went to the hospital and the next day after going to emergency I was told there was nothing they could do to save my foot. At that time, I got the worst news ever. I was going to have my foot amputated before my infection spread. There was nothing I could do because I was also told I was septic. It was something that happened so fast that they planned on doing it the next day asap. It really didn’t hit me until after the surgery. I couldn’t believe my foot was gone. Not only that, but they had to amputate just below the knee so I ended up losing part of my leg as well. A month after my surgery in January of this year (2023) I started having symptoms once again. An MRI showed that I still had a little infection still and they had to operate once again and open up my stump. They finally removed everything but left me with an open wound which has taken all this time to heal. I thank the lord that things have gone the right direction and I’m doing very well. However, it has been a long road and I’m still not completely healed. Since January I have had Doctor appointments and wound care on a weekly basis and my wound has finally almost closed. I’m hopeful that I’m the next few weeks and sometime this summer I will finally be fitted for a prosthesis. I have gone through so much and have had so many medical bills leading up until now. My insurance covered a lot but I have had to pay a lot out of pocket including paying my medical still out of pocket through my employer for the last year without working and on extended medical leave from work. It has been extremely hard especially after paying for medical devices out of pocket such as wheelchairs, walking devices, a motorized scooter and lots of medical supplies. In the coming weeks I will have to pay for many more bills while I go through therapy while learning how to walk again. I know I will be back to my own self and now more than ever I have a better outlook on life and don’t plan on giving up. I have so much to live for but most of all for my family. These times have been tough and any donations would be appreciated. Even if it’s only $1.00 my family and I would be forever grateful. For those who know me, you know what kind of person I am and I hope I can return the favor down the road if anyone needs my help. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or even want to talk. If anything, please pray for me and my family.
Again, thank you and God bless ♥️
